Hello, I'm James R.

Hi there! I’m James — a foster dad, nonprofit leader, and big believer in what community can do when we come together. My wife Kate and I started Kids Cove Respite Home in Gravois Mills, MO, to give foster families a break — because even superheroes need rest. To help support the mission, we also launched Kids Cove Bakery & Café in Laurie, MO. It’s more than just a sweet spot for pastries and coffee — 100% of proceeds go directly toward providing free respite care for foster families across Central Missouri. We love being part of the Lake of the Ozarks community and are excited to make our space and services available to others through WEquip — whether you're looking for a cozy place to host a baby shower or a catered lunch that gives back.
